‘Vanditha Mohan is a well trained, artistic and a chaste Bharathanatyam dancer to bring in the eternity in the art. She is dedicated, committed to this sacred art for over 18 years and can mesmerize the audience with her abhinayas, and nimble feet movements.
She started her training under the tutelage of Guru Padma shri Chitra Vishweswaran and continued her advance lessons with Guru Shri S.Shivakumar and Smt Shailaja Shivakumar. She also had her formal Kathak training under Guru Jigyasa Giri.
She was a soloist for a Bharathnatyam competition conducted by Akhil Bharatiya Sanskritik Sangh, a government of India undertaking for Global Harmony and won a prize. She was chosen as ambassador to popularize Bharatanatyam and was one of the few chosen as best dancers by Eyal Esai Nataka Mandram, A Government of Tamil Nadu undertaking. She won the first prize in the solo classical dance competition Thaka Thimi Tha, a prestigious show of the popular TV channel Jaya TV that was viewed and appreciated internationally. She is a Doordarshan graded artiste. She was one among the few who danced in the 1000th year celebration of Thanjai Periya Koil, which was featured in LIMCA book of records. She has worked on various productions with doyens of classical dance and music like-Padma Vibushan Shri Balamuralikrishna, Padma Bhushan Dr.Padmasubramaniam, Kalaimamani Sri MV Narasimhachari and Smt Vasanthalakshmi Narasimhachari, Kalaimamani Dr.Saraswathi Sundaresan, Kalaimamani Shobhana Ramesh, Radhika Surajith, Gopika verma, and many other stalwarts.
She is a famous television host and has worked with Vijay sethupathi, Amy Jackson, Sudha Raghunathan, Suganya, Nazriya and many more. She was the creative head, compere of the show “Natyanjali” an exclusive show dedicated to Bharathanatyam that was telecast on Vasanth Tv. She was the choreographer, Solo performer for classical rhythms which was aired on Sunmusic India, Dubai, Malaysia, United States.
She has performed for a lot of margazhi kutcheris at renowned Sabhas. To name a few- Naradha Gana Sabha, Perambur Sangeetha Sabha, Krishna Gana Sabha, Hamsadhwani, Rasika Ranjani Sabha and many more.
Vanditha now lives in Dallas Texas, and continues to take this sacred art form to all. She was invited to perform a solo for “Harvard Tamil chair” in Dallas, which was a grand success. She has performed for numerous occasions and prestigious shows like Dallas dances, Waco dance festival, Diwali mela and was very well appreciated for her intricate movements and choreography. She was the judge for two famous State and national level dance competitions – Natykalakar and Starkalakar that was held recently.
She continues to touch lot of lives through her dance and strongly believes in “healthy mind, healthy body”! So, dance for your mental health- “dance for your Soul”
